Benefits and Council Tax

Housing Options

Provide free information and advice about housing rights and other housing issues to help people decide which housing option is right for them. Service is for people living with their families, who are homeless, who rent privately, who are social tenants and who are homeowners.

Easymove

Offer practical support to help Council tenants who are pensioners that may want to move to a home with less bedrooms. Helps people bid for suitable properties, arranges and accompanies property viewings, arranges help with the practicalities of moving, financial assistance to help cover moving costs.

Floating Support Service

Offer free service for the over 60s living in Waverley to help them carry on enjoying life in their community and homes. Helps people to live independently in their home, supports people to develop confidence and involvement in the community, assists with filling in forms, welfare and benefit entitlement advice, provides information about other services for older people.

Don’t Lose Your Home

Provide practical help for people that are struggling to keep up with basic bills. Listen to people’s financial problems, make sure people are receiving benefits they are entitled to, help people find ways to save money and budget, help people deal with their lenders and finds other organisations to help relieve the situation.

Waverley Training Services

Run training courses for people age 16+ who are unemployed to support them to gain qualifications and build confidence and make steps towards employment or further education. Courses are free to those aged 16 to 24 and 24+ doing a level 2 qualification. Also offer a range of apprenticeships and NVQ training to local businesses.
