Surrey Family and Mediation Service
How we help:
Provide a mediation service for couples who have decided to separate/divorce and for civil partners who have decided to dissolve their partnership. This may include Skype sessions and shuttle mediation for those who cannot be in the same room with the ex-partner (eg if relocated, moved abroad or in Domestic Abuse situations).
Offer additionally group or individual Child Counselling service, for those children aged 6 – 13 suffering as a result of parental separation or following bereavement. Parents are required to attend a group preparation session prior to child entering counselling.
Run Child Contact Centres where non-resident parents and other family members can have either supervised or supported time with their children in a friendly, comfortable & safe environment. Fees are set for this service and are non-varying.
Run a Separated Parent Information Service which assists parents in recognising the needs of their children as a result of separation/divorce free if ordered by the Courts or fees apply
Provide clients with information about issues around separation/divorce, notably child issues, finance and property including pension sharing, housing, debt and benefits issues.
Services adhere to confidentiality and strict codes of safeguarding, are of Quality Mark standard and adhere to the Family Mediation Council Code of Standards; recognised by the Ministry of Justice and Legal Aid Agency, BACP accredited, NACCC enhanced accreditation.
