Farnham Volunteer Centre
How we help:
Run a service providing volunteering opportunities for people over the age of 18 who live, work or study in Waverley, through a Supported Volunteering Programme. Volunteers, for this project, may self-refer or can be referred to us via an agency.
Have a Volunteer Centre in Farnham, plus a Volunteer Outreach in Godalming, giving advice, help in matching people to suitable volunteering roles, and one-to-one confidential interviews. Help people to find the volunteer role that’s right for them, and if required can attend the volunteer’s first day with them to introduce them, through the Welcome to Volunteering project.
Volunteer Centre opening hours are Tuesdays & Thursdays, 10am – 2pm.
Provide volunteering opportunities with a wide range of organisations, charities and groups delivering a large range of services. Enable volunteers to develop social connections, gain new skills and grow in confidence. Offer opportunities for volunteering, support job search and assist those who have retired to remain active.
Farnham Volunteer Centre are part of Voluntary Action South West Surrey, which provides direct support services and specialist advice to voluntary, community and faith groups in South West Surrey, helping them to carry out their valuable work and runs local projects to enable under-represented groups to become more active in the community.
Organisations in the Not For Profit sector are offered free membership of VASWS/FVC and access to workshops, training and an annual conference.
Where your circumstances are complex and you need help from various organisations, we can help you by making contact with several organisations within the Waverley network on your behalf, without you having to explain your circumstances to them over again.
