Carers Support Waverley
How we help:
Provide free, confidential independent advice and information to Carers and Parent Carers in Waverley. Our service is available to Carers living within Waverley, whether the person they look after lives within the Borough or not.*
Have a team of Carer Advisers who visit Carers in their home and offer a responsive Carer-led service, which can be occasional or regular depending upon the needs of the Carer and their circumstances. Being responsive, there is no waiting list to obtain help. Advisers may also meet Carers at another suitable venue if they do not wish to have a home visit , or by appointment at their offices.
Advisers can assist with information about benefit entitlements, signposting where necessary, and can help with completion of Attendance Allowance forms.
Offer a range of monthly support groups (Godalming, Farnham and Cranleigh), including a link to a Young Carers Support Group, advocacy in obtaining services, and a range of Information Days which includes topics such as Safe Lifting & Handling, Telecare, Dementia, and information about Care Act provisions, and a range of other services/information about Respite breaks, Recognising One’s own needs, registering as a Carer with a GP and with a Social Care Team and Help for those recently ending a Carer role.
Hold an extensive Directory of useful Links for Carers.
Where your circumstances are complex and you need help from various organisations, we can help you by making contact with several organisations within the Waverley network on your behalf, without you having to explain your circumstances to them over again.
